Wedding Slideshow |
|
Theme: Hot Starring Patrick
Algermissen and Eva Schmidt This month I put together a sildeshow of me and my fianceé Eva. First, me as a baby, then her as a baby, and then intercut the two of us growing up, and finally us together. It was a very personal project, and I didn't expect much from the audience at the Frequent Film Festival. I was pleasantly surprised that many people came up to me after the showing and told me how much it moved them. |

Shootin' the Birds |
|
Theme: No-Yes-Maybe Starring Orion Martindale
and his Fine, Feathered Foes A semi-mockumentary. I followed "adequate filmmaker" Orion Martindale as he shot his latest Group 101 effort, Argumentum Ornithilogicum . Orion had to work with many Avian-American Actors (that's birds to the folks in the cheap seats), and we get to follow him on his trials and tribulations as he ... er ... shoots the birds. |

The Gripping Legend and the Unbridled Horror of the Screaming Phantasm |
|
Theme: Legend Starring Shaun Hagan, Dan Dyer, Megan Whyte,
and the Screaming Phantasm
This movie is an OFFICIAL SELECTION at Fright Fest 2003 (Gainseville, GA) I have a screenplay for a feature film I would like to get financing for in the future entitled "Ben Spade vs. the Screaming Phantasm". This film is a short prequel, to acquaint viewers with the world of Ben, and to introduce my town's local legend (on which both films are based) to the world at large. The movie itself is kind of a mix between "Sleepy Hollow" and "The Maltese Falcon". Set in a 1940's era world, we see how the Screaming Phantasm manages to keep his legend alive and to keep people of out the woods he has claimed ownership of. Two police officers assigned to the long-open case unwittingly play right into the Phant's legendary hands. Watch the trailer or Download the Movie (137 meg) now! |

The Artist's Manifesto |
|
Theme: Brian Feldman Starring Patrick Algermissen This month's theme was chosen by fellow founding member Brian Feldman. I thought it was pretty arrogant to make everyone make a movie all about himself, so I chose to be equally arrogant and ignored it. What followed was me reading/enacting a poem I wrote in 1997. Watch The Artist's Manifesto now! |

I Didn't Even Try |
|
Theme: The Universe is Beige Starring Dudley Occasionally in Group 101, one just runs out of time to make a movie. Most 101'ers (in Orlando at any rate), simply let it slide and don't make one. Not me. This one was shot in 10 minutes, and edited in a few hours (took so long because there were CG characters in the movie). It was simply a commercial for the fictional shoes known as "Dudley's Sneakies". |

Quotient |
|
Theme: Rebirth Starring Jeff Goguen, Denise Klienfelter, Molly Rendon, Sam Foutch Takes place 150 years in the future. Children are given mandatory IQ ("Quotient") tests at age 7. If they don't pass..... well, this is how society deals with rampant over-population. The story follows a couple (Goguen & Klienfelter) who have a daughter they know is retarded, and how they deal with her impending test date, knowing they are sure to lose her. Possibly my best film to date. |

Three Dating Don'ts |
|
Theme: Three, Under 11 Minutes Starring Patrick Algermissen and Eva Schmidt This is the first official ass movie produced for Group 101. An ass movie is a movie that is pulled out of one's ass at the last minute. Don't denounce the ass movie. The ass movie is the cornerstone of Group 101. G-101 is here to make you make a movie every month, no matter what. If you're unwilling to make an ass movie, you miss the point. |

The Patrick Algermissen Motion Picture Experience |
|
Theme: Fear Under 13 (Under 13 minutes, that is) Starring Kevin McGuire and Jeff Goguen What would be 'Feary'? Well, I realized that I do some dangerous things when I make movies. Anything for the impossible shot, right? I also realized that getting these dangerous shots created some pretty scary (yet hilarious) out-takes. I'd always been wanting to do a collection of out-takes, having produced/directed 13 movies over 5 years. There was more than enough fodder, and this collection of out-takes proved to be an audience favorite. |

Welcome Home, Omni Durham |
|
Theme: Filmmaker's Choice Starring Ann Walker, Kevin McGuire, Chris Walker Omni Durham (McGuire) was the number 1 criminal in his gang, until he got busted. Eight years later, he is let out from prison and goes into hiding with his family (Ann & Chris Walker). He doesn't know how, but they find him on the day he moves in to his new apartment. They order him to pull one last job, or his family gets it. Against his wife's protests, he does as they ask. The film then follows his wife, Natasha Durham, as she wakes up the next day to find him missing. Through several different forms of media, she learns there was a jewel robbery broken up by the police late the night before. The burglar was killed in a shoot-out. Was the gunned-down man her husband, or someone else? |

Whispers in the Shadows |
|
Theme: No Dialog, Under Seven Minutes Starring Kim Preskitt, Patrick Algermissen, and Eva Schmidt Tells the tale of a young woman, Ophelia (Preskitt), who is obsessed with a man named Nolan (Algermissen). She has determined that Nolan is the one person in all the world that is perfect for her. Her problem is that she has also determined that his girlfriend (Algermissen's real-life fiancee Eva Schmidt) is the perfect woman for him. So, logically, she kills herself and begins to haunt them. Is she only out to terrorize them, or is her plan more devious than they could ever imagine? |
